You rarely get to see the India Mill chimney like this. From the ground, you’d never guess at the incredible detail and craftsmanship that went into its construction, because so much of it is hidden high above the rooftops. In this watercolour, I’ve taken you up to the top to see it properly.
The chimney towers over the Darwen skyline, a proud landmark that has watched over the town for generations. Beyond it, Darwen Tower stands on the hill, keeping its own watch over the town below.
