Description
Old Market Clock Tower, Blackburn, In Sepia:
Limited Edition Sepia Watercolour Print
The Town Hall and Market Clock, as Blackburn remembers them
Step back into Edwardian Blackburn. In this watercolour, the Market Clock tower rises behind the columns of the Town Hall, while a lady in a feathered hat strolls past ornate lamp posts. A horse-drawn market cart waits beneath the autumn trees, beside an early motor van, a sign of changing times.
The Market Clock came down in 1964, but it has never been forgotten. For those who grew up under its gaze, it was the place to meet and the landmark that told you that you were home.
