Description
St Pauls Church Hoddlesden St. Paul’s Church, Hoddlesden:
A lost landmark.
The original Victorian Anglican church of St. Paul’s stood proudly in Hoddlesden, a fine example of the Geometric Gothic style. Its traditional lines rose against the sweep of the Lancashire moors, a building that seemed to belong to the landscape as much as to the village.
Sadly, St. Paul’s was demolished in 1975. For many, it is still remembered: the place of christenings, weddings, Sunday services and quiet moments, and a familiar sight on the skyline of home.

- A true piece of local history: a church gone from the skyline but not from memory
